The purpose of the Chancellor's Commission on the Status of Gender and Sexual Identites is to enhance the status of all LGBTQA+ identified people at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, by advising the Chancellor on issues pertaining to equity and on specific concerns of LGBTQA+ faculty, staff and students at the university.
The Commission works closely with the Chancellor's Commission on the Status of People of Color, the Chancellor's Commission on the Status of Women, and other diversity initiatives to monitor campus climate and recommend improvements to create a more equitable environment.

Building Community
We recognize that our community is dispersed throughout the University and, that we need to build bridges to bring LGBTQA+ students, faculty, and staff together. In addition to advising the Chancellor on issues facing our community, we also seek to provide support and opportunities for members of the LGBTQA+ community to come together, celebrate who we are and generate a sense of belong among members of the community who call this University home.

Addressing Concerns
One reason this commission exists is to address the concerns of the LGBTQA+ community that are known to exist on campus and within the greater University setting. We take that responsibility very seriously. We want to know your concerns and you can be confident that they will be taken seriously and confidentially by any commission member with whom you speak.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to the commission.
